Charities supported by the Social Members
2018 – AIR AMBULANCE
In 2018, the yard was opened up to the public to introduce Carumba and Culverwell to the racing club, where we had a collection and a raffle. A cheque was presented for £600.00 to the Air Ambulance with some of the racing club present. As a family an accident occurred while on holiday in Devon in the 1997, so we know firsthand what this life saving charity does, the helicopters run solely on fund raising alone and is crucial for a lot of racing and equine accidents.

2021 – LITTLE PRINCESS TRUST
During covid years, hair dressers were closed, and my hair was growing very long it made sense to continue to grow it for The Little Princess Trust, for them to make the hair into wigs for children that have lost their hair during cancer treatments. When allowed to do so after all covid restrictions were lifted, we had a Summer Fete which included games like hook the duck, splat the rat, marble in a jar, along with a hog roast. All donations (£210) together with my hair was sent to the trust.
2025
Having had two summer evening events in 2025, Bingo and Pizza, and Race Night with Fish and Chips. There are two charities close to the racing club this year, so it was fitting to split money raised between them:
Muscular Dystrophy (£300)
Two members of the racing club attend the muscular dystrophy support centre who do amazing work in providing therapies free of charge to support people living with muscular dystrophy (M. D.)
Royal British Legion (£300)
One member of the racing club has been involved with the British legion cycling challenges, taking on the RBL’s Netherlands Liberation Trail 2025, to celebrate the nation’s official liberation day, cycling 300km in 3 days. In 2024, he was also involved in pedalling Normandy beaches to mark the 80th Anniversary of D.Day landings with the Royal British Legion
