Stables

Seven stables are located within an American barn style building along with a wash down box and veterinary box. The barn is very light and well ventilated. All stables have rubber matting and overlook the all-weather gallop and paddocks which allows for a relaxed yard for box rest and rehabilitation horses as there is always something to watch.

Isolation Stables

Two stables with paddocks are located outside of the main yard. This is to limit the spread of any infectious disease or a horse that is only staying for a short period of time will be located here again to limit the spread of infections to the main group of horses on the main yard.

All weather oval gallop

Silica sand based with rubber topping the gallop is just over a furlong round. It is ideal to train the horses slow and steady. The oval layout also helps settle hard pullers and provide experience for novice horses on how to tackle difficult bends.
Inside, the all-weather is a grass canter this allows for the horses to canter on different types of surfaces and goings.

Lunge pen

The sand lunge pen is ideal for aiding horses coming back from injury that are not ready to be ridden.  Horses in full training can be ridden or lunged giving a good variety to their training. The lunge pen can also be used as an all all-weather turnout pen for when the paddocks are just too wet in the In the winter months. This allows horses to get out for a few hours no matter what the British weather throws at us.

Schooling

A wide range of jumping options are available, poles along with portable hurdles and fences can be put on the all-weather and the grass canter,  this allows horses to learn how to get into a jumping rhythm over a number of fences which can simulating a race situation. Fixed fences are all so used for the chasers to get off the ground before racing.

High post & rail fenced paddocks

Individual paddocks with high fencing  range in a variety of sizes to accommodate horses coming off box rest and in rehabilitation to horses in full training. All horses (unless on box rest)  are turned out daily to keep them happy and relaxed.

Magnetic therapy

Magnetic therapy can aid the healing of tendon and ligament injuries and can also warm muscles up before exercise and aiding recovery after exercise.

Heart rate monitor

The use of heart monitors enables Katie to study each horse before, during and after exercise. The heart rate monitor collects data which is used to identify the effort each horse is putting in during training. It is also an indicator that a horse is a little under the weather or has a problem brewing before it is visible to the eye.
