Star

May I introduce “Star” who will be joining Tarquinius in The Stars and Diamonds Racing Partnership .

Star is an un raced / unnamed 4 year old filly, She was one of the first progeny by sire Winker Watson, he is known as a stayer in flat racing. Winker Watson has ran over a mile in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot where his rating peaked at 115. To date he has four years of progeny running on the flat and over jumps. His 2 year olds are running at their best over 6f and it has been shown that his 4 year olds are starting to show stamina running over a mile.

The Dam of Star, ImagineMySuprise ran over one season and placed twice as a 2 year old on the flat having had her best rating of 59 running over 1 mile. There is no record of there being any foals other than Star. Mujadil is Star’s Grand sire, who has sired a lot of high class jumpers that have ran over 2miles and 3miles.

Star – her stable name (ironically) before she came to us, has a lovely outlook and a great attitude towards her work. She has schooled over fences and has shown great scope. I will continue her education and she will stay in training throughout the summer. Star will start racing in maiden races over 2m4f at the start of the season and progress to 3 miles. She will also be aimed at mare’s only races when they become available in the New Year. Star will have plenty of away days before her first run to canter and school on other peoples gallops and we will also take her on a racehorse gallop.
