From Tarquin’s ultrasound scans the decision was made to give Tarquin three lots of shockwave treatments on the injured area every fortnight, he has currently had two sessions and the third one will be due on the week commencing 7th September.

The shockwave machine generates high-intensity shocks or pressure waves, which pulse to a specific site within the injured tissue. Stimulates and accelerates the healing process, essentially combining an immediate analgesic effect with a reduction in inflammation and neovascularization in soft tissue. After this he will probably be scanned one last time, allowed out in a bigger paddock and be given the all clear to be ridden.
