Star has started cantering and has settled into her work really nicely (I keep forgetting she is only 4 years old). She is also continuing work on the grass at the moment along with lunging in a pessoa to build her core strength up, Her cantering work will continue and I will start jumping her.

Star likes to practice jumping herself. When Star first came she loved cantering circuits of the field jumping over the electric fence (it was not on). The plan has always been to separate the front paddock into two with a post and rail fence. Within a weekend the fence went up. To my surprise, Star decided that she would also jump the post and rail fence too with enthusiasm and confidence. To stop her from jumping the fence again she has been confined to one paddock on her own or with the Shetland ‘Paddy’, they get on quite well.
