Thank you for all your suggestions either by filling out the contract, contacting me or putting your idea in the suggestion box. There were over 30 suggestions and they were all really good. Looking though them all I felt that whatever her name would be ‘Star’ should be in it somewhere and it couldn’t be too long. To register a name for a horse it must be confirmed and registered with Wetherbys (Horseracing organisation). When going through the list of the names you had all suggested, a lot of them had already been taken or reserved by owners. These included:

• Star, Little Star, Counting Stars, Starlight, Rising star,

• Shooting Star, I am a Star, Wondering Star

Other suggestions which were close in the running which were available

• Diamond Star, Astral Lady, Burbage Star, Star Lady,

• Star O Chella, Starlette, Star of the Show, Leading Lady

But one name stood out from the rest

 Starlette

(Also spelt Starlet) meaning:

1. A small star (Astronomy)
2. A young and inexperienced actress publicised as a future star (Film)
