I first got in contact with James Clowes in the summer of 2016 when Tarquin and Barrington sustained leg injuries. James’ shoeing gave them more support and a good chance of recovering from their injuries after Rehab. I continued to use him with Starlette, a tricky character when she wanted to be but James and his team had patience putting up with her and have been vital in getting her feet in good shape with the help of remedial shoeing. There has also been endless visits to replace shoes that she had left behind in the field (I think they had a soft spot for her really). James has dealt with most of my Racing and Rehabilitation horses and what a great job he has done. Today replacing Star’s shoe was the last time he will be my farrier as he is off on a new adventure doing something he has always wanted to do. I would like to say a massive “Thank You” to James and his Apprentices and I wish them all good luck and best wishes for the future. The new farrier has some big shoes to fill.
