I am pleased to announce poor Tarquin has now completed his first 2 weeks box rest out of 6 whilst recovering from his recent injury. He will be re-scanned to see how his injury is healing and over this summer we will be focusing on his rehab.
Tarquin will shortly be starting controlled exercise working in hand for 5-10 minutes a day increasing up to 35 minutes. We plan to introduce trotting again next month.
We are hoping Tarquin will progress back to canter work slowly after completing his current exercise plan, and only after the vets have given their consent. Tarquin has a number of upcoming scans and I am sure he will be happy when he is allowed back out in a small paddock.
Tarquin will always be involved with the Stars and Diamonds Racing Partnership. The vets at Cheltenham racecourse have said that as long as Tarquin’s rehab goes well, they can’t see why he cannot return to racing next season. We are currently thinking positively and taking each day as it comes, but with all the horses under my care, Tarquin’s needs and health will always come first.
On that note, we have some exciting news! We are currently looking for a new horse to join the syndicate alongside Tarquin, Watch this space for more information.
I will keep you updated with Tarquin’s progress.
Many Thanks
