A big thank you to Sarah Jane Rutter from Baileys Feed company, she paid a visit to the yard yesterday to give all a weigh-in and to discuss feeds, there are so many things on the market these days, i lose track of them all!

Wink Oliver was first up on the scales, being weighed regularly when running on the flat, I thought he would show them all how it was done. He did and stood beautifully.

Second in line was Humbug, Bug has been weighed before so no problem getting on the scales. Since being in ridden work his belly is starting to come off, but his owner and I both know there is still room for improvement and more strengthening work whilst he continues his Rehabilitation programme.

Starlette was next up. It took her a few attempts to stay on the scales, she thought it was loading practice and walked off the front. Finally on and she behaved great. Very happy with how she is looking at the moment, once we start faster work she should tuck up nicely.

Tarquin would of been weighed plenty whilst he was racing. He felt that the scales were just not long enough for his frame. Now in retirement he is lacking muscle and top line, his high withers are not helping. His weight will be closely monitored over the winter period and dealt with accordingly.

And last but not least…. Paddy! We just couldn’t resist. He is very chubby at the moment, he has put a bit of weight on due the summer, but I am sure it will come off during the winter months.
