The snow arrived!

The all weather canter track was covered ready for the snow to appear!

Covering the track when snow is due allows the horses to be using the all weather the next day quicker than if we waited for the snow to thaw out. With freezing temperatures during the day and night this could take a good few days to get the horses back cantering. It is not advised to use any all weather surface with snow on top. As the snow mixes into the surface and if it freezes will ruin the surface for the horses to canter on.

The snow arrived, I know the boys had experienced snow before but I wasn’t sure about Starlette having come from the Isle of Wight and then Hampshire. She wasn’t sure at first but had a good run around and then licked all the snow off the post and rails.
